Initial situation
The Austrian Mint, based in Vienna, is known worldwide for its first-class treatment of precious metals and for its production of coins. As a global player, the company belongs to the world’s elite of mints. Its main task is the production of circulation coins for the Austrian Republic, but it also supplies numerous countries around the world.

Strategy
The Mint’s previous online shop had already been realized with eZ Publish, albeit with a technologically obsolete version. Especially the inflexible content maintenance and the high investments for functional extensions were significant reasons for the upgrade project. Because of the existing expertise in this area, the online shop was brought to a new eZ version. It was imperative both to update it visually, technologically and functionally and to implement further functional extensions. The focus here was solely put on the users and their needs.

Implementation
The greatest possible flexibility and a consistent look – REICHLUNDPARTNER eMarketing developed a set of content sections that can be freely combined and reordered. Right from the start, we payed attention to responsive design as well as accessibility. To guarantee a smooth data flow without duplicates in the master data store, we implemented numerous interfaces between the Mint’s internal ERP and CRM systems and the CMS.
